    Thank you for leaving Malta. We have more than enough foreigners as it is. Hopefully more foreigners follow suit.

    The maltese people did not send you an invitation card, so why do you complain?? They speak Maltese in Malta because they are MALTESE!!! It is their first language.

    If your roof contains ASBEST then be very careful (it is forbidden in EU since 2005). NEVER drill a hole in it or break or saw it. As long you dont touch it, it is OK. Best put plastic sheet beneth it or better professional isolation. If you break or drill in Asbest there will be microscopic filaments from which you can get cancer.

    @alexwinter5874 19 днів тому

    Very nice - but maybe a bit dangerous. Please check your roof if the Eternit contains Asbest. Asbest => cancer. As long you do not move the plates or they are not destroid, there is no problem. But better you replace the Eternit roof of your living house (very carefully).

    The house own you not otherwize - You spent 80 % of your free hours to prepare things and go shopping. Your car only costs 600 per month. Living in a city saves time and money. Nevertheless - be happy in your paradise.

  • @alexwinter5874
    @alexwinter5874 23 дні тому

    better solution: Work 1 year very hard and get 200.000 and buy a better house. You save 2 years of your life. TIME is the most precious thing we have.

  • @alexwinter5874
    @alexwinter5874 23 дні тому

    ATTENTION check fix on going costs: tax, cost for water and electricity - you have to pay the town or goverment - doest matter if you live in the house or not. So dont pay more then 1 EUR

  • @alexwinter5874
    @alexwinter5874 23 дні тому

    TIPs from me as engeneer: 1. press toilet flushing 2!!! times. 2.roof 40 3.Water=30 Electric=30 if it is wet (NEVER buy) or pay+30 and most expenisve is YOUR TIME (say you calc 20 EUR/hour for you x 3 years for renovation = 220days * 3hours/day * 2person 20EUR/hour * 3years = 4.000 hours * 20EUR = 80.000 => 40+30+´30+80 => 180.000 EUR. Everything what you pay more then 1 EUR for the house is too much.

    You speak about exclusion, but your homelands (the UK and Latvia) are among the less welcoming countries.

    You could’ve moved . Going to the beach is free, take sandwiches don’t eat out. Scotchland is also lovely both countries the people are friendly. An 8 hour day 5 days a week =40 hours that’s normal. You should always learn the language of your host country. Hey you’ve experienced Malta and it’s not for you.

    I didn't expected that you use white gloves. Because, I seem them getting dirty😥 Because we generally use different color ones. This Homesteading activity really keeps you both of you healthy and fulfilled. Appreciating beautify of life in small things. It shows we don't need to be extremely rich to live a fulfilling life. I have serious question. I just checked some of your decade old videos. You don't seem to be aging. am I wrong? did you notice yourself or someone told you? Ofcourse you will be aging mentally and growing in maturity. But, physically you are not changing. Like your body stays the same. Not getting fat or losing what you have. If I stopped working out for few months I gain lot of weight.

    really admire how you two do all this :) Feel like it takes a certain type and a certain mindset to be able to appreciate that lifestyle but it;s so real and down to earth. My big brother insists on doing almost all DIY stuff by himself hah, it;s understandable though. Feels like 80% of the industry are crooks and he's a perfectionist and a great learner, the stuff he does is amazing.

    The fact that Malta is expensive especially the rent you’re right. In Malta the best thing is to have your own home. You can’t have the cake and eat it . We work a lot because it is a must and in this way we can buy our own home. You get a full time job, you get a loan from the bank, you buy a property , rent it and pay the loan with the money you get from leasing the property snd eventually you may not have to work that much. But if you have to pay the rent(all alone because many foreigners share apartments to reduce the costs)you don’t have a full time job that pays decently, if you don’t do some sacrifices at first and not party all the time, it will be hard for you. No pain no gain.As for the language I’m sorry but we are Maltese and we speak Maltese which is our first language, if you live here you have to learn the language. We are already risking of losing our language because of all the foreigners living here who speak English only( and sometimes not even that). In many countries such as France, Italy, Germany you sre obliged to learn the language to live there. In Malta it is not like that, we do more than enough to please the foreigners. Even the monery earned from certain jobs is a shame, to accomadate certain foreigners. Maltese people are not finding jobs because of foreigners who are paid less and are preferred over the Maltese. You have to adapt to the country not the country adapts to you. There are foreigners who live a good life here but many of them have their own business or they earn good money from well paid jobs such as the gaming industry or propert agents. Winters here are a blessing, you don’t have to complain about that. Summers are terrible and unbearable for those who hate the heat and the sun like me. Good luck in finding a country that you fit in and live a happy life😊

    Nice to see an update, especially one that is celebrating the arrival of Spring. Happy Easter! I commented on an earlier video of yours, referring to our plans to come to Latvia, specifically Daugavpils, to teach at the university there. I am currently searching for an apartment there, viewing photos of them on-line. If it all works out, I'll be arriving in Riga in late August to present at a teachers' conference there. If you ever want a "guest" visitor on your video, let me know. It would be a pleasure to build bridges between Latvia and the U.S. Best wishes as Spring evolves on your beautiful "estate."

    This was very insightful for me. I'm Maltese and have been living in Arizona for 7 years, and I could just post a same exact video saying pretty much everything you expressed, about Arizona: Financial 'struggle' (big land but cost of property is insane) , zero time-off and only 24 hours paid sick time in a year, doesn't feel like home (no connections/feeling excluded, whether it's language or non-language related), far from family.. I get it x I guess the strongest message for me from this is that home is always home, for most of us. Some things are always gonna be better and others will be worse.. wherever you are. Hope you're very happy back home!! =) xxxx

    You two are so right. I live here and have been here for about 18 months and I find the people very unfriendly, there is so much corruption and controlled by greed. It’s noisy, dirty, it smells of cat urine and too dusty. They cut all the trees down to build these ugly buildings and the driving is stupid, unsafe and generally reckless. It is a very unhealthy place to live. Can’t wait to leave forever.🙏🏽

    It was great to hear an update. I live in Pennsylvania where the farmers put cow manure/urine mixture from dairy farms to fertilize the fields during the spring. You can always tell when you drive by a field that was recently spread with the slurry - it smells quite bad for a day or two.

They’re obsessed with fireworks 💥 but like you said, fireworks is disaster, only making sound, like shooting guns! And they’re convinced that they have best fireworks 😂😂😂 Garbage everywhere, not dustbins to be found!!! Beeping for everything, guy passing with the gas ⛽️ beeping, man who sell bread 🍞 beeping, man who sells fish 🐠 by car beeping… Drivers with the car beeping!!!
